ANDREW VON SONN

I was born in Hollywood in 1940. My parents were Russian immigrants, their families having fled to America in search of freedom. My mother was born in China enroute. She was a special category illegal alien when I was born. So I am still close to my immigrant roots. I still know that, other than Native Hawaiians and Native American Indians, we are a land of immigrants.

I was an Eagle Scout. I have four children.

I went to UCLA as an undergraduate, majoring in Political Science. My senior year I was Captain of the football team, a Scholastic All American, Cadet Commander of the ROTC, and President of my fraternity.

In 1964, I was a starting linebacker for the Los Angeles Rams.

From 1967-1970 I went to UCLA Law School.

Amongst other jobs, I worked for the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office. I worked for an East-West Trade Company based in New York and I worked for the Venice Community Coalition, with gang members from the V13 and the Shoreline Crips where I made some friends, learned a lot of things, and where I observed over and over again the power of our role identities to affect our behavior. A truism for all of us.

In 1989 I moved to Hawaii. I'm a member of California and Hawaii State Bar with 35 plus years Private Practice.

I've written and published (cartooned the last two) the following books:

Cops 'N Dopers, A Peoples Guide to the 4th Amendment or How to Avoid A Bust
(English and Spanish under one cover.)
Teaches the 4th Amendment in a popular style - lots of cartoons.

The Money Rebellion
About an outlaw computer banking system which challenges the status quo - money basics, taxes and rebellion with plenty of cartoons and laughs (accessible for free here).

If Not Now, When?
My cartoons and words about life and stuff, including questions about our current monetary system. (Also available via Amazon Kindle.)

I also maintain:

MayflowerUnlimited.com  and  CopsNDopers.com  and  MauiLawOffice.com
